Q:

Are bounce houses safe?

Bounce houses are as safe as playing in your own house, maybe safer. We want your event to be as safe as possible, so we will walk you through the safety features prior to final setup. Please review our safety rules and instructions.

Q:

Are the bounce houses clean?

Yes, we clean each bounce house after each rental whenever possible. However, due to time restrictions it may be necessary to clean the inflatable at your location when it is delivered.

Q:

Are there any cleaning fees?

We expect to receive our inflatables back in a fairly clean manner. We realize that children in and out of it all day, can allow grass to enter by means of their socks. We will not charge for cleaning this. However, since you will receive a list of general rules at the time of setup, any food, drink stains or not following any other listed rule of this nature will result in a minimum $35.00 clean-up fee at the time of pickup. The inflatable will be inspected before it is packed up at your location.

Q:

Can you set the inflatable up anywhere in my yard?

All inflatables need to be within 50 feet of an outlet. Longer cords can be used, but the blower will lose power, as the extension cord gets longer causing a potential fire hazard and damage to the blower itself.

The ground should be as level as possible. Nothing more than an 8-inch difference in height from one end to the other. If there is more than that, the kids will end up bouncing down hill and bump into each other, possibly causing injury.

Q:

Can you set the inflatable up on cement?

Yes, the inflatables will be secured with either sand bags or cement holders rather than stakes, and a tarp or rubber mat will be placed underneath to protect the unit. However, it is HIGHLY recommended that the inflatable be set up on grass whenever possible. It is possible that someone could slip getting into or out of the inflatable and hit the ground. The cement is unforgiving when this happens.

We must be informed of cement setups prior to delivery or there may very well be an additional delivery charge for returning to our office for the proper equipment.

Q:

Can you setup a bounce house or inflatable in a park or other public place?

Yes, we do setup in parks and other public places. However, there will be an additional fee if a generator, insurance, or permit is needed. Under new state regulations, any setup at a school, church or park must have an on-site inspection by the state fire marshal's office. There is an inspection fee of $20.00 per inflatable that we have to pay the fire marshal's office and therefore, if your event is at a school, church or park you will be charged an extra $20.00 per inflatable to cover this cost.

Q:

Do I need an attendant?

There should ALWAYS be someone supervising any inflatable. The most important duties of an attendant are limiting the number of children in or on the inflatable at one time, making sure that the children are all of similar size and controlling the behavior of all participants. At the present time, we do not offer an attendant, but plan to in the future.

Q:

Do you deliver rental items outside of Louisiana?

Not at this time. We hope to do so in the future.

Q:

Do you require a deposit?

No deposit is required, unless you are renting more than one inflatable and/or you are more than 25 miles from our location.

Q:

Does Fun City Inflatables & Party Rentals have a business license?

Yes! We are licensed, registered, insured and inspected in the state of Louisiana.

Q:

Does Fun City Inflatables & Party Rentals have insurance?

Yes! Fun City Inflatables & Party Rentals carries liability insurance coverage. However, we are only responsible for our own negligence; not yours. In reserving your inflatable, you will be required to sign a rental agreement that lists specific terms and conditions of the rental. You must adhere to these rules. Injuries or accidents are very rare, but generally they are the result of a lack of supervision or inappropriate use.

Q:

How much should I pay for a bounce house or inflatable?

It depends. You get what you pay for – Cheap inflatables cost less and therefore are rented for less. The higher quality inflatables with the latest safety features and better bounce cost more and therefore cost more to rent. If you want the convenience of having someone deliver, setup, give instruction, and remove the inflatable, you will pay more. If you don’t mind giving up your time, effort and gas, there are rental companies that allow the customer to pick up inflatables in their own vehicle, set it up, take it down, fold it up, and drive it back – you will save around $20. Our insurance companies requires all inflatables to be setup by representatives from our company and therefore we do not allow customer pickups.

Q:

If I need to cancel will I still be charged?

Out of courtesy we ask that you give us as much notice as possible. If you cancel with at least a 2 day notice, there is no fee. If you cancel with less than a 2 day notice you will be charged $35.00. If you cancel after we have already setup the equipment, there will be a $100.00 setup fee.

Q:

What are the rules when using a bounce house or inflatable?

Generally speaking, no food or drink, no shoes, no sharp objects, no visible metal zippers, no medical conditions including pregnancy, no wresting/roughhousing, no hanging on the netting, no flips, NO SILLY STRING and NO Sand. Please refer to our SAFETY PAGE for a list of rules.

Q:

What areas do you service in Louisiana?

Please check our SERVICE AREAS and delivery fees to those areas.

Q:

What do we do if the inflatable is up and it begins to rain?

Unplug the blower and move it out of the rain while you let the inflatable deflate. Once the rain stops, plug the blower back in and wipe down any wet surfaces to avoid slipping. The vinyl gets very slippery when wet.

Q:

What if it looks like it is going to rain on the day of our event?

If you cancel prior to the time stated, due to weather, you will get a full refund. Call the day before and let us know that you are considering canceling your rental. If the forecast is for scattered showers, we recommend that you still take the inflatable and let the party go on. If it rains, unplug it, move the blower out of the rain, cover the inflatable if possible and when it stops raining, plug it back in and dry off any wet surfaces.

Q:

What if the inflatable is damaged during my event?

If there is a defect in the inflatable, there will be no charge. Depending on the situation, if the inflatable is damaged due to a preventable circumstance.. (example: dog chewed on it, someone cut it with a knife, or sharp object on clothes), then a repair fee will be incurred (Please see rental agreement).

Q:

What is important to ask when renting a bounce house or inflatable?

Does the inflatable have a safety ramp? If not, do not rent it! If they refused to pay the additional $200 for the safety ramp to ensure the safety of the participants, do not rent from them.

What size is the bounce house or inflatable? Get the largest size that you can fit in your yard. The more room the kids have to bounce, the safer everyone is. A 15x15 or larger inflatable is recommended whenever possible.

How old is the inflatable? The newer units have better safety features, fire retardant vinyl, and re-enforced stitching. (If you rent a cheap inflatable and it falls apart during your rental, you may be responsible for the expensive repairs.)

Q:

What methods of payment do you accept for rental items?

Currently we accept cash money and money orders.

Q:

What should I do if there is an accident?

If there is an accident involving any of our inflatables or ANY of our equipment, please assist everyone out or off of the inflatable, turn off the blower and unplug it. This will allow the unit to deflate so that no one enters while you are tending to whatever has happened. Please notify us or ask someone else to notify us IMMEDIATELY! We can be reached at 505-813-0567. If there is a problem and you cannot reach us at this number for some reason, please refer to the business card you were given when the equipment was delivered. Each business card should have the cell # of the person who setup the equipment. After you notify us, please write down a detailed explanation of what happened and who was involved while it is still fresh in your mind.

Q:

What size inflatable should I get?

Bounce Houses typically come in 3 sizes for backyards – 11x11, 13x13, and 15x15. Get the largest size that will fit in your yard. The more room the kids have to bounce, the less likely they are to bump or fall on each other. When renting a bounce house or inflatable, make sure you know the size you are getting and make sure you do not pay the price of a 15x15 bounce house when you are ordering a less expensive 11x11 or 13x13 bounce house.

Q:

What time will the rental equipment arrive at my location?

Our NORMAL delivery times are 7-11 am. This is our NORMAL delivery window and is not guaranteed in any way. However, if we do realize that we will be later than 11:00am, we will try to call and let each customer know as well as to find out what time their particular party starts so that we can try to get to that particular location before the party begins. (Updated 02-17-2011)

Q:

What time will the rental equipment be picked up?

The pickup of rental equipment starts just before dark to make sure that each customer has the equipment until the end of their party or event. If you do need the equipment picked up before a certain time, please advise the driver at time of delivery. If severe weather is expected in the evening we may call you about early pickup. (Updated 02-17-2011)

Q:

When do I have to pay for the rental of the equipment?

Payment is due in full on delivery of the rental equipment.

Q:

Why do I have to rent for the entire day rather than the 3-4 hours I think I will need it?

Sometime things happen, such as: the party started later or guest showed up late and/or they did not get to use the bounce house or inflatable as much as they would have liked. It is very rare that we come to pick up an inflatable after a full day and it is not being used to the last minute. Renting a bounce house or inflatable should be the least of your worries during the day of your event. Having it show up late, setup or taken down while your guests are there can be stressful and inconvenient.
